The best gaming chairs offer the best ergonomics and build quality. Everything else fades into the background. Luckily, today’s best gaming chairs look damn good, so you won’t be overwhelmed by comfort or customization. However, getting a chair that meets all of these requirements can cost a fortune, so it’s important to spend it wisely.
A good chair that conforms to the shape of your body may set you back a little, but in terms of its ergonomic benefits, it will be a great investment(opens in new tab). Your body is a fragile meat sack that needs some care.
Gaming chairs come in all shapes and sizes: racing seats, thrones covered in satanic runes(opens in new tab), and even chairs emblazoned with the flags of your favorite superheroes. For a more conservative option, we’ve added some understated yet stylish office chairs, such as the Herman Miller X Logitech G Embody (Opens in a new tab). It offers the support you’d expect from a gaming chair, but without all the gaming aesthetics – though it’s all for the money on a real gaming PC.
We’ve tested dozens of gaming chairs from today’s most trusted companies, and every chair in this guide has been subjected to our collective testing. While you can always switch to the cheaper office chair route, we think it’s worth the investment in your ergonomics. Go ahead, treat your butt to something special – your body will thank you.

The Secretlab Titan is the benchmark by which we measure all other gaming chairs. To deserve this role, it meets all the requirements for gaming furniture: it is comfortable, supportive and, most importantly, it looks great. That hasn’t changed with the Secretlab Titan Evo 2022, the newest chair in the Secretlab lot (ignore its dated 2023 name).
Instead of repeating the same mistakes, it is better to immediately move on to the good. Secretlab presents the Titan Evo to a wide audience in three sizes: small, regular and extra large. The advantage of this is that you no longer have to sort through different chair models to find the right one – the Titan Evo will fit most of the options.
Secretlab has added a slight curve to the seat base which they say should give you a healthy sitting posture. It’s hard to tell if the gentle curve will actually hold me securely in place all day long, and despite the seats’ ample foam padding, they’re still surprisingly comfortable.
With comfortable ergonomics, the Titan Evo is perfect for long gaming sessions or an eight-hour workday thanks to its excellent built-in back support. It is height adjustable which means you can easily determine the best fit. It is also worth mentioning the armrests and the 4D headrest, both magnetic.
You read that right, a magnetic head pillow. Titan Evo is a simple solution to your belt problems, it fixes all problems with a few powerful magnets.
An important component of the Titan Evo’s high level of comfort is the adjustable lumbar support. It works by pushing and pulling the inner support in, out, up and down with two dials on the side. So, instead of relying on uncomfortable pillows for back support, you can also adjust the Titan Evo’s lumbar support while sitting on it. This makes it very easy to achieve the desired result.
The upholstery of the chairs was also impeccable. While there are a few other things to like about the SoftWeave Plus fabric that Secretlab also offers (we tested a hybrid version of the leatherette), I have to say that I really like the look of the leatherette, especially the bright red stitching.
I will need to check the actual durability with you when I use the chair for longer and maybe when the Titan Evo 2024 comes out I can tell you if it will really stand the test of time. However, I could notice how airy and cool the leather fabric felt during the day.
A cross between Secretlab’s previous two gaming chair models, the Titan and Omega, the Secretlab Titan Evo is superior in every way. Every chair is well made and the Titan Evo manages to be just as good or even better. It’s a bit more expensive than its predecessor at $449 ($499 for the XL model), but I think the upgrades it offers are really worth the money.
I know the Secretlab Omega is not a mattress, but bear with me. When it comes to mattresses, most people are willing to pay a little more for a quality product. This is because they know they will be spending a significant portion of their 24-hour day in bed. If the recent influx of gaming chair manufacturers is any sign, gamers are of the same opinion when it comes to outfitting their PCs with chairs.
The Secretlab Omega is one of the prettiest chairs we’ve tested. While it has been largely replaced by the Titan Evo above, the higher price of this chair could make the Omega a popular choice for those looking to save some money.
However, we’re starting to see most of Omega’s cheap stock run low, leaving only the more expensive special editions. They’re still cheaper than the cheapest Titan Evo in most countries, but it’s only a matter of time before they disappear.
However, despite Omega replacing the Titan Evo, there’s still a lot to like. From the casters to the base, lift mechanism, armrests and seatbacks, Secretlab has used some of the finest materials available. The Omega has been updated with the 2020 Secretlab line of upgrades, which includes high-quality metal in the armrest mechanism to make it silky and smooth to adjust, more durable, and the addition of the company’s extremely durable 2.0 faux leather.
The chair is supported by high quality cold curing foam. It feels a bit stiff at first, but becomes more comfortable with extended use. Omega stands out from the crowd with its velor memory foam pillows for the lower back and head. They are very comfortable and we had no problem reclining the chair completely and taking a nap if we wanted to. While it doesn’t look good in the office… if you want to treat your body to a really durable chair, the Secretlab Omega is worth the money. You probably won’t shell out as much as you would for a fancy graphics card, but the best gaming chairs will easily outlive your components and last a decade or more. Omega is an extremely strong and durable foam. We have spent several months with the Secretlab Omega and the saddle feels new. One downside to this is that the seat sacrifices some softness to withstand heavy use over the years.

The latest addition to Corsair’s line of premium gaming chairs, the T3 Rush, has received a much-needed facelift. The T3 Rush is a very comfortable chair thanks to its memory foam lumbar cushion, but more importantly it uses breathable soft fabric instead of faux leather. This is because it retains less heat, keeping you fresh and comfortable rather than sweating in squeaky folds.
I don’t have the heart to try this, but my biggest concern is the fabric gaming chair: does it remove stains easily compared to leather and faux leather? So if you are a notorious eater and regularly spill liquids at your desk, you should consider this.
By the looks of things, Rush is more suited to the office than the pros. It comes in gray or black, avoiding outrageous design choices that might look a little clunky on a work phone. This chair looks more expensive ($300) than it is. If you’re looking for a little more personality, if you’re tired of black or grey, DX Racer and Secret Labs come in many designs and colors.
Rush also tilts to a ridiculous 180 degrees if you want to lie down and nap in comfort before jumping into your next Apex Legends or CS:GO streaming session.
The only major downside to the T3 Rush is its suitability for smaller users. If you need a smaller seat, the T3 will be uncomfortably cramped. So if you’re over 6 feet or over 200 pounds, you’ll need to look elsewhere unless you’re buying for kids. However, the absence of any interesting colors can scare them away.
If you’re the type of person who values functionality over flash, NeueChair is a great choice. That’s not to say it’s not stylish – quite the opposite; NeueChair comes in sleek, soft obsidian or gorgeous chrome/silver, both with bold, luscious curved supports and flattering black mesh on the back.
But more importantly, NeueChair is built to last and features a rugged industrial construction. Even the weight of the chair in the package suggests that this is a well-built work of industrial art: it is heavy and durable.
It is easy to assemble as it comes in two separate parts, just insert the rollers and join the two parts together. Nearly every aspect of the seat is adjustable, from the armrests to the lumbar support system, allowing you to change the height and depth of the backrest.
This is one of the best office chairs I have ever had the pleasure of sitting in and if you can afford the notoriously high price it is well worth it.
You may have heard of Herman Miller Embody. It was number one on our list of the best office chairs for a long time(opens in new tab), but that was about it. Not for lack of comfort or praise, but simply because a renowned chair manufacturer partnered with Logitech to create something special for our gaming hips. For the most part, the Herman Miller x Logitech G Embody isn’t really a complete departure from the old Embody. The Gaming Embody is a tried and true design that comes in a new black and blue color scheme or solid black if you want to look more poised and daring. There is also a small Logitech G branded switch on the back, which is useless as far as I know, and the Logitech G logo on the back strap.
I’m not sure the Logitech collaboration will do much good for the party, but the branding has a particularly light touch next to the racing-inspired gaming chairs we’re used to as PC gamers, so it looks classy.
It’s not the kind of change that makes the Embody one of the best gaming chairs out there. This is what remains unchanged. The time-honored design of Embody is one of the best chairs for office work or play. It is comfortable for extended use, maintains an active and healthy posture, and easily attaches to your frame.
However, until Embody appears, I don’t know what to expect from him. I certainly didn’t expect such a big box to show up on my doorstep. So first impressions were completely focused on how I would navigate the two narrow flights of stairs leading up to my apartment.
This giant box hides perhaps one of Herman Miller’s best features. Deciding that I would have to carve the chair out of the box with a utility knife in the hallway, I found the chair came fully assembled so there were no issues with screws or disposable tools, which was my little nitpick. (With my collection of third-rate hex keys from cheap flat furniture, I can’t help but feel there must be a better way.) This chair’s most compelling feature: You can sit in it all day and feel a moment of discomfort under your ass. You can move your upper body from side to side throughout the day in all sorts of definitely non-ergonomic positions, but your lower body tends to get stuck somewhere on the table, so it’s important to get it right. Luckily, Embody does just that.
The warranty is also a highlight. 12 years (including labor) and rated for 24 hours of use, this chair is guaranteed to last over a decade, if not longer. So while the initial price may seem high, the truth is that you will definitely get your money’s worth in the long run. Your back will appreciate it too.
When buying a gaming chair, it is easy to forget about your health. After all, most of them are advertised as plush stuffed thrones that will ease your pain while you defeat your enemies in Apex Legends. But that’s not the case, and for some it’s important to choose a chair that can seriously sway back to back.
We can totally recommend the PVC leather Noblechairs Hero as some of the team members have been using it daily for almost a year. While not the most exciting or the most athletic chair, it does protect your back well.
The Hero is easy to assemble, except for the drill that connects the back to the seat, so make sure you have a partner. He is strong and supportive, very tough. Warning: it’s hard, so if you like softer chairs that don’t fit well in your lower back, this probably isn’t for you.
To be honest, the existence of the Hero gaming chair is shocking. Cold-cured molded foam makes the seat firm yet comfortable. You don’t get stuck in it which helps with posture and it softens over time but definitely complements the aesthetic (hard look = brutal). But that basic support means it’s still suitable for long gaming sessions or working from home in a pagan temple. Whatever it lacks in softness, it makes up for in support. I love that the armrests swivel so you can get them out of the way when you want to use gamepads, and they’re also fully adjustable in height and width, which is great for us little ones. It’s great to have such wide armrests, but I found myself constantly leaning into the corners and not making the most of them, tiring my elbows. I personally prefer the padded armrests, but at least they don’t get sticky or slippery when you try to bend them in your favorite FPS horror game.
The chair is height adjustable (as all chairs should be), has a “tilt mechanism” for the backrest so you can adjust the angle with a handbrake style mechanism, and a completely separate “tilt lock” mechanism so you can freely sway if all the hardcore games bore you, or lock yourself up almost horizontally for a nap. It also doesn’t jump forward or crush you when unlocked, which is always nice.
The Kaiser 3 XL is a great chair for those who want more room to move than a regular gaming chair. Kaiser 3 is available in two sizes: Large and King. The Large size is suitable for players from 4’11″ to 6’2″ (150-190 cm), while the Extra Large size is suitable for players from 5’11″ to 6’9″ (181-210 cm). The one I had the pleasure of trying out was a king size.
The extra wide width is available in sizes medium to XXXL, so this chair will fit whether you have a gluteus maximus or minimus.
Kaiser 3 really likes to offer options. This chair is available in two materials: high quality PVC leather and linen fabric. The premium leather is available in seven different colors including orange, pink and blue. The linen fabric comes in two colors: jet black and taupe grey. The chair I tested is made from elegant premium black PVC leather similar to the Jungle 2. The Jungle 2 has orange accents.
This is all pretty cool, right? The Kaiser 3 reclines 165 degrees, which is great, it has two levers, one that controls the tilt and the other controls the height of the chair, raising it about 3 inches. These things are great for comfort.
What I really want to know is the really cool features on the Kaiser 3 that add to the ultimate comfort, like the 4D armrests. As with our beloved Secretlab Titan Evo chair, the armrests are made of foamed polyurethane with magnets, making it easy to lean on them. There are three buttons on the armrest, one on the outside of the armrest controls the height of the armrest. Buttons on the inside of the chair near the tips of the armrests allow it to move back and forth and rotate from left to right. The latter under the armrest moves it from left to right.
I love the 4D armrests, especially when the chair is tilted back and forth because it allows me to adjust the armrests to suit my sitting position. Nothing irritates me more than a dangling elbow. It’s like hanging your legs over the bed at night.
Continuing with the magnetic theme, the neck pillow is another great feature. This is a game changer, I can’t even lie. I am amazed by this magnetic neck pillow. This means there are no shoulder straps, no need to make an effort to fasten it to the back. boom! As in the Flex Tape ad, slap your child on a chair and they will stay. As well as being a really cool feature, it’s also useful if you’re below the 5’11″ recommended height for this chair, as it can be easily adjusted further up or down on the chair.
Its magnetism also does not affect its comfort. The neck pillow is made from memory foam and features cooling technology for comfort.
Did you notice that something is missing? Maybe a lumbar pillow. This is great! There is no lumbar support pillow, but there is a lumbar support – it is built into the chair. And it is controlled by two handles located on the left and right sides of the chair.
